Client Perspective: Audra Asplin
This week we're featuring our frequent client, Audra Asplin, and when we say frequent—we mean frequent. Audra comes in twice a week for a trim, and every six weeks for color. Read for yourself as she details her Redhead experiences below.
Where are you from?
I went to Bowling Green State University in Ohio. After graduation, I got my first job in Indianapolis, and lived there for about three years. I was transferred to Muncie in 1996, and I’ve lived here ever since.
What brought you to Redhead?
I had driven by several times, and it’s so close to home and work, so I thought I’d check it out. I really love Jen; she typically cuts my hair, and I’ve probably gotten the best haircuts I’ve ever had from her. She keeps me coming back!
What are your hobbies?
I really like doing yoga and reading, and I love spending time with my five-year-old son.
Who cuts your hair?
Jen does my hair most of the time, and Morgan does it when Jen isn’t available. They’re both great, and they really understand my hair.
Why do you love coming to this particular stylist?
I really like her personality; I have a very good rapport with her. She’s laid back, and when I ask her to do something, she’ll do it the way I want it to be done and I’m never disappointed. She either meets or exceeds my expectations.
How long have you been coming to Redhead?
About three and a half years.
How often do you get your hair done?
I come in twice a week—yes, twice a week! My current hairstyle is a high maintenance, short architectural cut. If I want it to look the way it’s supposed to, I have to get it trimmed on a regular basis. I also get it colored about every six weeks.
What do you look for in a good stylist?
I look for someone that’s going to take time to listen to what my needs are, and who will tell me honestly which hairstyles work best with my hair type. I usually schedule my appointments several weeks in advance, but I can always get in with Jen when I need to. She’s very flexible and understanding when it comes to my busy schedule.
What sets Redhead apart from other salons you’ve been to? How is our salon experience different?
Redhead uses natural, environmentally friendly products, and I don’t know any other salons that do, so that definitely sets it apart. If I have to call and change my appointment because of last minute conflicts, they’re great about working around my needs. I think it’s important to be accommodating, and they certainly are—10 times out of 10.
Do you purchase any hair products from our salon?
I don’t personally because I’m in the salon so often, but I buy my husband the GAGE FOR MEN combination shampoo, conditioner and body wash and he loves it!

What’s your favorite part about our salon?
I feel really comfortable with everyone—they’re so friendly, outgoing and down-to-earth. I love coming to Redhead so often because I feel very at ease and at home at every appointment.
